23:30:00

Hi guys! I'm back and I apologize for not blogging new reviews as often nowadays as I was really busy. Today I will be reviewing the oil control cushion from The Face Shop. I bought this firstly, because of the cute Apeach design. Secondly, I have really oily skin so I have the problem of foundations on my face sliding off :(

It comes in a set of a cushion + 1 refill(inclusive of a puff) for $35.

Their packaging is goals, tell me about it! The cute little Apeach 'bum bum' there.

The one I got is in shade V201- Apricot Beige.
It says on the packaging that this cushion foundation recharges skin with moisture while controlling sebum for long lasting freshness.

Expiry date stated underneath.

Look at the cute apeach puff! I replaced it with an ordinary puff cause I wanted to keep this :p

Thefaceshop cushion seals are always dropping off and less secured, I wonder why.

When I opened it I was quite shocked to see more of a orangey-tone foundation soaked in sponge. Afraid that it wouldn't match my skin as it looks a little dark like that.

When applied, I would say it doesn't look that dark on me. However, it may not be suitable for very fair skintone individuals. This oil control cushion has the darkest shade among my cushions collection.

So let's do a comparison with Laneige, Missha and Innisfree cushions.
You can see clearer with the flash on. Thefaceshop oil control water cushion has the darkest shade among all 4. The undertone is orange. Laneige one has a pink undertone. Missha has a very white undertone. Innisfree one has a yellow undertone.

Does it does what it claims?
Claim 1: Shine-free moisturizing cushion.
Yes, after applying it leaves a matt look. But the matt look last for about 5-6 hours and you can see shine and slight oxidation on your nose after that.
Claim 2: Controls sebum for long lasting freshness.
I don't really like the formula as I think it's abit drying. I may have oily skin but this enhances my dry spots on certain parts of my face, making it looks patchy. But many users like the mattifying effect of this cushion. I agree this cushion stayed on longer than the other cushions I own.
Claim 3: Evenly dispenses product from first to last touch.
It's easy to dipsense the product but I don't recommend to use this for touch ups outside.

Summary of product:
Packaging
~ Apeach + it's pink! Who could resist? Every girl secretly loves cute things don't they haha. Pink always reminds me of Etude House and this one, it's just another must have. It comes with a pretty pink glossy box with a cute little apeach cut out popping out from the top of the box. Comes with a refill and additional puff.

Smell
~ There's fragrance. Smell doesn't really bother much.

Color?
~ V201.

Pros
~ No allergic reactions.
~ It maybe a little drying but not hard to blend out. It blends out very fast and very well before it sets.
~ Great for people who loves a powdery matt look.
~ Suitable for oily and combination skin well as the oil controlling property does work and extends your makeup span by a few more hours.
~ The cover design is a must get!

| Cons |
The ingredients list contains a few acne irritant ingredients so you might wanna patch test first.  >click this to check<
~ I think it's a little drying to retouch up outside.
~ I prefer glowy look, so matt isn't my cup of tea.
~ If you use other puffs instead of the face shop ones, the foundation will appear sticky and hard to blend out..weird right. I tried missha, innisfree and etude house puffs on this cushion foundation and it turned out like shit literally. lol

Would I buy this again?
Nope, but I will still buy it cause I love Apeach! In future if there's another Apeach design, I will still buy it :p
Although I didn't really prefer this, many others had been raving about this cushion. Maybe I just don't know how to use it haha!

Where to buy?
I bought mine at The Face Shop, Jem.
