(PR) Bellflower Heartleaf Houttuynia Treatment Serum and Azulene Daily Calming Serum Review

08:36:00

I am super excited and hyped up to report back this holy grail product sent from Bellflower to me. Their brand claims to provide the most intensive and trustworthy skincare solutions with naturalism according to targetted skin troubles of each individuals. It's interesting they picked a flower name as their brand name too. The flower language of ‘Bellflower’ is sincerity, gratitude, grace.

The first product I picked to try was the one I was extremely satisfied with too. It has an earthy calming scent, herbal like.

Houttuynia cordata extract, regulates skin oil balance and improves sebum secretion. For dehydrated oily skin, this is a plus for you.

Centella Asiatica is my all time favourite for it's soothing and calming properties.

It has a really short ingredient list to my surprise. I feel safer to use products with shorter list of ingredients especially when I am breaking out.

Although it contains Alcohol, I don't find it dehydrating.

Allantoin is one of my favourite ingredient as it has anti aging properties yet with soothing properties too. It has a lower risk of breaking out. It also helps smoothen skin.

Finishing soon, cries!

Comes with sturdy dropper too, no leaking at all. Very impressed.

Slight viscosity as seen above.

It glides smoothly on skin and feels lightweight. Definitely great as a summer serum~!

Does it does what it claims?
Claim 1: Houttuynia cordata extract (44,000ppm) It contains 4.4% heartleaf houttuynia extract can treat sensitive skin instantly and effectively, making it healthy and clean. It regulates skin oil balance and helps to control sebum, and it is good for oily skin lacking moisture.
I prefer to use this in the am under my make up as my make up seems to stay longer. It did compensate moisture that my skin needs, when skin is less dehydrated, my make up stays on longer too.
Claim 2: Centella asiatica extract It has been used to treat skin diseases and various diseases. The seedlings contain a component called "Madeca" in leaves and stems. It has excellent effects on wound healing, anti-wrinkle and blood circulation promotion, and various products such as ointment, cleansing, dye, and hand cream are being released. It can improve not only wound healing but also vascular health.
I see my acne going away but since I am concurrently using various product, it's hard to credit this fully. But I am rather positive this had been a tremendous help for my skin. Less redness with lesser acne noticed after implementing this in. But I am not sure was it the centella helping since it's the last on the list.
Claim 3: Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) leaf oil  It Gives skin radiance and suppleness, makes skin elastic. It protects the skin from harmful substances from the outside and helps the problematic skin.
It am unable to tell on this but, I am happy that my overall skintone seems to be more even out.

| Thoughts |
Well, I definitely preferred this over the Azulene one for now. It's lightweight, sebum controlling and has a great scent. Since I break out easily, I try my best to avoid alcohol in skincare products. Thankfully, it did not dehydrate my skin but keep my skin moisture balanced and controlled my sebum production.

Next up, I will talk about the Azulene Serum. I was having high hope for this to perform even better, but I still preferred the other over this. I am a big fan of Azulene too thanks too it's anti inflammatory benefits to the skin.

Woah, at it's longer ingredient list. But fret not, the ingredients are extremely safe still.

Niaxinamide is one of my favourite ingredient too. It not only strengthens skin barrier, it helps reduce pore appearance and dullness.

Honey is a rich antioxidant, it leaves your skin supple and glowy.

Guaiazulene is the ingredient that gives this magical purplish colour. It is also an anti oxidant that fights inflammation to soothe skin. However, why is this near to the bottom of the list hmmmm.

Not to mention Centella which is right below, seems like the concentration might be too low to even note.

I love hyaluronic acid! It's every skin type best friend. Am glad that was included amongst the ingredient list.

I love the color of Azulene, the purple-ish blue-ish mixture looks like unicorn potion.

Also comes in a dropper tool bottle. Very sturdy. I dropped it accidentally and thankfully, it didn't shatter. Phew.

Looking almost colorless. Slight viscosity.

Absorbs fast and lightweight too on skin.

Does it does what it claims?
Claim 1: Guaiazulene This material is made by dehydrogenating the guaiacol obtained from the oil of Guaiacum officinale Linné or Giuaiacum sanctum Linné (Zygophyllaceae). It has been used in various inflammations from ancient times that it has anti-inflammatory action.
I have to agree it does help with inflammation but I felt the other one was more effective in soothing especially with redness.
This ingredient is right at the bottom of the list which seems like a low concentration to maybe even notice it's effect.
Claim 3: Niacinamide 2% Niacinamide is a kind of Vitamin B3 and whitening effect is excellent. It is a whitening functional ingredient approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Administration. It shows improvement of skin tone and inhibition of trouble occurrence whitening effect. It shows the effect of improving skin barrier. It blocks the pathway of melanin to the surface of the skin, so it prevents the skin from becoming dark when applied to areas where scars or stain marks are likely to occur or areas exposed to ultraviolet light.
Niacinamide is my love. I used to use pure concentration of Niacinamide so I can't tell if the effects are obvious, but I am glad to know this was included as a main ingredient. If you are new to Niacinamide, who knows you might love it!

| Thoughts |
I prefer the Heartleaf Houttuynia Serum more in this case, with it's calming properties being more obvious and with a relaxing scent. I use this Azulene at night instead of the daytime. When I wake in the morning, my skin has a nice subtle glow with a bit of oil. Generally, an ok product to try but I highly recommend to try the Heartleaf Houttuynia Serum more instead for intense skin repair.
