(PR) Wishtrend Green Tea Enzyme Powder Wash Review

22:55:00

Hello, I am back with another product kindly provided by Wishtrend for my thoughts on it. Initially I was really excited on this because it's my first time trying out a cleanser in a powder form and also, with green tea! Green tea is one of my favourite ingredients as it helps with irritated and acne prone skin. I used to wash my face with green tea lukewarm water thrice a week in the past.

What's the hype:
1) Low-irritation cleanser for sensitive skin as well.
2) Includes baking soda, coconut-derived surfactant, and enzymes that keep the skin hydrated while taking care of blackheads and dead skin cells.
3) Antioxidant effects within the green tea and baking powder improves skin troubles and clears the skin.

Key Ingredients:
Green tea powder (Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder)
Green Tea is a powerful antioxidant, rich in vitamins such as vitamin A, C, and E.
Due to its relaxing effect from the comforting fragrance, it is a popular ingredient in K-beauty for calming and improving skin tone.
Effective in incense oxidation and skin purification, and helps to clear the skin.

Papain
Eliminates proteolytic enzymes, old keratin, and skin wastes to improve the skin texture.
Dissolves enzymes without irritation for exfoliation.

Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
Works as a soft and gentle scrub agent, is an excellent ingredient for removing blackheads and improving skin texture.
Improvements in acne-prone skin, effective in blackhead care. Excellent for deeply penetrating and cleansing the pores.

Amino acid surfactants
A weakly acidic surfactant derived from coconut. Great skin-affinity and excellent moisture retention.
Low irritant and has excellent moisturizing effect, without creating much foam.

Here's the full ingredient list. Looks so neat and clean.
Other notable ingredients I feel is worth to know:

Betaine
Also known as Trimethylglycine or glycine betaine. Functions: Primarily functions as a humectant and anti-irritant in cosmetic products. The small polar molecules of this ingredient are prone to hydrogen bonding (AKA interacting with water), which in turn gives it the ability to retain moisture.

Citric Acid
Citric acid is a wonderful product for treating several skin problems like mild acne, pigmentation, clogged pores, sun tanning, wrinkles, and dark spots.

Green powdery form. It's quite fine, I don't see it in chunks when poured out.

I tried to do a PH test since wishtrend claims this is ph balanced but..

On the left is water, on the right is Primera FTE(PH4)
Both shows a ph level of 8.
Hmm. It wasn't stripping so I just couldn't figure out why!

Does it does what it claims?
Claim 1: Low-irritation cleanser for sensitive skin as well.
True enough, this one worked well with my easily irritated skin. However, I try not to overuse it so I sticked to using only 2-3 times a week.
Claim 2: Includes baking soda, coconut-derived surfactant, and enzymes that keep the skin hydrated while taking care of blackheads and dead skin cells.
Ever since I started having this and the innisfree cica clay mask, my nose stopped congesting. I still see blackheads though hmm.
Claim 3: Antioxidant effects within the green tea and baking powder improves skin troubles and clears the skin.
Not so sure, I can safely say it did not break me out and my skin does feel softer but whether it improves is something I would still need to find out.

| Thoughts |
It's my first time trying out a powder wash. Initially I was quite 'odd' with it as I had to pour > mix with water > and foam it up myself which was quite a hassle but slowly I found it wasn't that bad afterall hehe. I enjoy using it as it wasn't stripping and IT STOPPED MY NOSE CONGESTION! Ok, it's always clogged and it gets red and swollen around my nose but I haven't been experiencing that issue anymore once I started using this regularly.
Downside is it's really hard to foam up!
