(PR) Sishe Royal Blossom Dewy Cleanser Review

22:10:00

OOZOO Singapore earlier on sent me a PR package which included this cleanser from SISHE. I'm very skeptical over cleansers as it determines whether hell or heaven for my skin. No middle, it's just that two extreme options for me. So I looked through the ingredient list, research on it and took up the courage to test it out.

So let's talk about the brand first. This is a new premium brand founded recently.

Why the name SISHE?
SISHE has roots in the name Xi Shi (西施), one of the Four Beauties of ancient China.
We take inspiration from her well-known grace and beauty, and deliver them to you through our products.

SISHE brand is a premium skincare products based on the use of flowers. Using natural ingredients and ancient China and Korea herbal recipes. We aim to bring out the beauty of each user through our careful crafted formulation.

What is it:
Royal Blossom Dewy Cleanser is a mild, non aggressive cream cleanser that,
• Cleanse your skin
• Moisturize your skin with nutrients
• Balances oil level on your skin
*suitable for normal, dry, oily and sensitive skin users.

More to know:
For decades, cherry blossom has been used for skin care purposes. Its natural anti-inflammation, anti-glycation, and whitening properties are widely recognized.
It also promotes collagen production and erases fine lines on your skin through anti-aging properties.

Full ingredient List:

The full breakdown of the ingredient list as seen below:

Notable Ingredients from what I know:
(These are based on my own research)
Saururus Chinensis Extract - Reduces Inflammations.
Punica Granatum Fruit Extract - Contains high levels of Vitamin C and antioxidants, which can help prevent cell damage. It also speeds wound healing and the repair of sun damaged and aging skin.
Lactobacillus/soybean Ferment Extract - Moisturizing, Wound Healing, Anti-oxidant, Anti-bacterial.
Sodium Hyaluronate - Sodium hyaluronate is smaller than hyaluronic acid and is able to move more freely into the deeper layers of the skin. It is a powerful humectant that attracts and holds on to water, which helps to hydrate skin and keep skin moist.
Panthenol - Also known as Vitamin B5. It's used as a lubricant, emollient and moisturizer because of its ability to penetrate the skin, providing lubrication and hydration.

Hmm sounds promising for the sensitive skin!

Just to add on, I know some of you guys know I am sensitive to the ingredient Potassium Hydroxide if you had been following me this while. But cleansers with Potassium Hydroxide generally did not cause me a big problem. Earlier on I used the cleanser from Innisfree which contains Potassium Hydroxide and I dare say it was my Holygrail at that point of time, considering I used it for almost a year long. I guess the leave on timing was short and furthermore it was a wash off product, it did not stayed on long enough to cause me a reaction.

Cherry blossom dewy cleanser cleanse and moisturize your tired skin with just one simple wash.

Do note: *Due to the nature that the product is vacuum sealed to ensure the quality and preservation of the natural ingredients of the cleanser. It might be slightly difficult to squeeze the content out on the first few usage.

My first squeeze was so difficult hahaha!

The product is a thick paste and pink in color when dispensed. There isn't supposed to be foam as seen above but there was contact with some water at the opening because my hands were wet, so those tiny foams started appearing. It's normal so don't worry.

It foams up really, really well which calls for... a worry haha. I tested the PH level and oops it's about 7-7.5 which is really high. I am not in for a high PH cleanser anymore ever since low PH cleansers got into the beauty market. Although said so, the SISHE cleanser, it wasn't as stripping as I thought it would be. Definitely, it's still drying as compared to a 5.5 PH cleanser (Cosrx Low PH Morning Gel Cleanser) but it did not went stripping dry like my previous cleanser (Innisfree Green Tea Cleanser).

All I can link back to justify would be the ingredient list, which contains multiple hydrating compounds.

Btw, my boyfriend tested this cleanser out too. So here is the chart of what we feel about the cleanser, considering we have different skin types.

Me: Oily, Sensitive.
Le BF: Dry.

So comparing the results, it may not be enough for DRIER skin types in terms of moisturising.

He feels whenever he gets blemishes, this cleanser helps in soothing his skin but however, it wasn't so much for me in my case.
He does looks brighter than usual haha. But it did not help with my uneven skintone and redness.
Both of us did not experience any bad reaction to this cleanser at the moment - thank god.

Does it does what it claims?
Claim 1: Cleanse your skin.
I tried to draw with my super water proof eyeliner and this cleanser removes all of it! Did not expect that honestly. This one cleanse really well.
Claim 2: Moisturize your skin with nutrients.
It's true that the cleanser is packed with a lot of goodness looking at the ingredient list. However, due to the high PH it did made me feel stripping.
Claim 3: Balances oil level on your skin.
Hmm on this, I don't feel so. I still don't see any effects on this at this point.

Summary of product:
Packaging
~ Comes in a soft tube and the tube gets deformed with every use. It's not an aluminium tube though. Pretty packaging with cherry blossoms all over. It comes with a very pretty box packaging too. I do think their packaging actually feels luxurious.

Smell
~ Floral scented.

Color?
~ Pink, thick paste.

Pros
~ Cleanses off sunscreen and make up well.
~ Foams up well with just a little of it.
~ Another cleanser that did not broke me up luckily.
~ Softer skin.
~ The scent is very natural, not artificial.
~ Helps with my bf little pimples, he told me his pimples were gone. I think he wants this cleanse over his Sulwhasoo one hahahah!
~ I noticed him looking fairer.
~ Unisex cleanser.

| Cons |
~ High PH level which was stripping, this was the only downside urgh!

Thoughts
The first time I tried to squeeze it, it feels like it's gonna explode haha! That was because it was vacuum sealed to preserve the ingredients. That's something very new to me which I had never encountered before. The benefits to me are very little. As the results depends on individual, I felt it would be best catered for the oily to combination skin without troubles. The high PH level is a major turn down and I had spoke to the brand about it and yes, they said they will consider to bring the PH down. Thanks so much for listening to consumers feedback xo Btw, it is priced at $22 (Slightly pricier) for 120ml. But considering it's a premium brand, I guess it's still reasonable.
