(PR) Althea Petal Velvet Powder Review

20:54:00

Here is Althea's first product launched under their own brand! I was really excited to try this out when I first heard about it. As I am a fan of the innisfree no sebum powder, this one from Althea was in a prettier packaging and at a more affordable pricing so I was wondering if this could be a replacement for that.

What is it:
This debuting beauty is a translucent powder that sets makeup and leaves behind a silky finish to the touch. Infused with oil from Althea seeds, this powder works to keep sebum production at bay without drying out the skin for a radiant, fresh look, all while giving out a gentle scent. Keep your makeup looking great all day or dust some on to stay shine-free! One of the main ingredients is Althea flower extracts.

It also claims to:
Minimise pores and fine lines appearance.
Mattifies without leaving the skin looking dehydrated.
Set the make up.

2x times fluffier stated but I think it's only slightly thicker than the innisfree one. But it's really soft so  *Insert heart shape emojis*

A sweet little massage especially thoughtful for blur people like me haha!

The powders stucked at the holes as seen.

The powder is colorless and spreads out lightweight.

Does it does what it claims?
Claim 1: Minimise pores and fine lines appearance.
It did minimise the look of my pores by providing a blurring effect. Fine lines wise I don't think so. There are some fine lines which the powder emphasise after a while.
Claim 2: Mattifies without leaving the skin looking dehydrated.
The key is to not put on too much. When too much is being applied on, it looks really cakey. So a little would do and also, I found it easier to apply with a brush.
Claim 3: Set the make up.
Yes, this is a pretty good product to set my make up. It delays my make up from oxidising fast. Considering the price, it's actually a good deal and a good enough powder!

| Thoughts |
There isn't any WOW factor, just another decent affordable setting powder. I do like it as it's packaging is pretty and affordable and the results are decent. The oil control isn't fantastic, but do-able, my sebum breaks it around the mid day. Overall, I do like it!
