Innisfree - Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask Review

02:13:00

It's finally TGIF! Friday is my favourite day as I tend to try 'new' stuffs just in case any allergy kicks in on the next day lol! Today's review will be on Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask and this is such a WOW product.

What it is:
6-in-1 Pore care:
Shrinks pores + Controls sebum + Exfoliates + Deeply cleanses + Brightens tone + Cools

Winner of 22 Global Beauty Awards

1. What is the Super volcanic pore mask?

Jeju volcanic clay is made from minerals released by volcanic explosions in Jeju. It's categorized as a preserved alkaline resource and is effective in removing sebum and other impurities.
(Contains 6,020 mg of Jeju volcanic clay)

2. Strong removal of sebum thanks to the Super volcanic capsules
As the capsule bursts, the mask exfoliates and removes dead skin cells. The AHA ingredient chemically exfoliates and smoothes out skin.

3. Clear, Contracted, and Refreshed Pores!
The strong absorption of sebum and cooling effect of the clay refreshes the skin and contracts pores.

What else you need to know:
Super volcanic clay vs Original volcanic clay
-Super volcanic pore clay mask: Great for treating pores!
-Volcanic pore clay mask (Original): Great for controlling sebum!

How to use:
After washing your face, gently apply toner on your face to even out your skin texture. Then, apply the mask over your entire face, avoiding your eye and lip areas. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water after 10 minutes.

Ingredients:
WATER, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, VOLCANIC ASH, GLYCERIN, SILICA, TREHALOSE, KAOLIN, BENTONITE, POLYVINYL ALCOHOL, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, ZINC OXIDE (CI 77947), GLYCERYL STEARATE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, JUGLANS REGIA (WALNUT) SHELL POWDER, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, CITRUS UNSHIU PEEL EXTRACT, OPUNTIA COCCINELLIFERA FRUIT EXTRACT, ORCHID EXTRACT, CAMELLIA JAPONICA LEAF EXTRACT, PVP, PEG-100 STEARATE, POLYSORBATE 60, STEARIC ACID, PALMITIC ACID, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL, XANTHAN GUM, IRON OXIDES (CI 77499), ZEA MAYS (CORN) STARCH, SORBITAN STEARATE, POLYACRYLATE-13, MANNITOL, MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE, LACTIC ACID, POLYISOBUTENE, MENTHOXYPROPANEDIOL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, TETRASODIUM PYROPHOSPHATE, POLYSORBATE 20, IRON OXIDES (CI 77491),
DISODIUM EDTA, PHENOXYETHANOL

What it doesn't have:
4-free system : mineral oil, animal-originated ingredients,

It comes in a tin like container with a aluminium lid. It's very sturdy and does not break easily even when dropped.

A plastic film on top when opened.

I recommend you guys to use a spatula so as to not contaminate the entire container.

It can be scooped up very easily. I heard the product will eventually dry out if you don't finish it in 3 months time. So it's really a waste :(

Very very consistent, with tiny capsules on mask. As the capsule bursts, the mask actually exfoliates and removes dead skin cells. The AHA ingredient present, chemically exfoliates and smoothes out your skin.

When blended it looks a lot better!

After 10 mins, my hands fine lines can be seen which means the product is starting to dry up.

I was expecting it to feel dry and tight but not at all. I was surprised by the reaction, where it was more of a cooling and refreshing experience.

As you can see, there are slight improvements.

Q: Does it really brighten and smooth out your skin?
A: Yea, after cleansing off the mask, you will notice your face looking brighter and smoother.

Q: My face is super sensitive, will it clog my big pores and worsen my skin condition?
A: If you don't cleanse it off properly, yes it will clog your pores and will even lead to cystic acne. When one of my pore has this on and not cleanse off completely, it will result in a bump the next day when I wake up. So cleanse as throughly as you can. If possible use a cleansing brush - I ain't referring to those expensive brushes, I m just using a $25 one to cleanse.

Q: Is it suitable for dry skin too?
A: Yes it is! It doesn't matter if you are a dry skin or oily skin to be able to use this product. Just make sure to apply a moisturiser.

Q: What's the order to use this mask?
A: Cleansing > Toner > Mask, wash off after 10 mins with lukewarm water.
(I understand it stated Toner > Mask > Cleansing on the official site, but if you had makeup on, I am sure you would need to cleanse it off first before toner ya?)

Q: There are too version, which should I get?
A: If you skin is super oily, please get this, the one with the word 'super'.

  1. Innisfree sheet masks are by far my favorite addition to my usual nighttime skin care routine. I do a sheet mask at least two or three evenings a week to supplement my daily products with an extra infusion of moisture and actives. Thank you for your review.

    1. Hey, I see! I like innisfree mask too but on days when my skin feels dry I will refrain from using Innisfree mask though as their mask contains alcohol. But I like their masks too since it's affordable and reliable. You are welcome! Thanks for visiting my blog xo

    1. Yes of course. But it's recommended to as the toner removes impurities on your face so that the goodness from the mask can penetrate into your skin :)
